Our Story
Grounded in Heritage & Hospitality
The Swallows Nest began with a dream—and years of family memories.
We’re Pat and Mikki, and we’ve shared more than 19 years together. Mikki is an enrolled member of the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe, making this place especially meaningful to our family. For about 15 summers, we brought our family to the reservation for Fourth of July camping, fishing, and memories we still talk about today.
In 2020, we took the first step toward putting down roots. Our idea for a simple cabin grew into an A-frame we built ourselves, with helping hands from friends.
As the four walls went up, the swallows moved in—making themselves our very first guests. They stayed until we enclosed the cabin, leaving on their own, and later built nests on the outside. And just like that, The Swallows Nest had its name.
Built with our own hands and rooted in a place we love, it’s a little piece of our dream, ready to be part of your next adventure.
